Project Overview
New build student accomodation providing 86 bedspaces in a variety of formats including core and cluster rooms with ensuites and cluster communal kitchens and dining/living rooms and one bed studio flats with their own kitchen and facilities. The building also incorporates a cinema and a gym, reception and laundry and common room. Heating is provided through a centralised gas boiler and CHP.
The project is constructed in a light weight steel frame over 6 floors with concrete floors and basement incorporating energy saving plant and equipment. Infilling a gap site which has blighted the south side of Edinburgh for a number of years, the street frontage is predominantly stone cladding, with facing brick to match adjacent cinema and render to the gable and rear elevations.
