Preparing for Moving In
Once habitation has been granted by the local authority and the NHBC (or other warranty provider) has certificated your plot, you will be given the opportunity to visit your new home for a Welcome Meeting. This inspection will take place around one week before you are due to move in and it usually takes the form of a demonstration by one of our site staff and the sales advisor.
In your home, we will demonstrate the workings of the windows, heating and hot water, shower and kitchen appliances. Our site representative will also show you the electrical consumer unit and the position of services stopcocks or any other features that will be useful to you. At this time we will also be able to answer any questions you may have about your new home.
Moving in Day
On the day that you move in (also known as settlement day) you will be accompanied to your plot by the sales advisor, who will walk you round your new home and assist you in inspecting the property. If you find any small issues that require attention from our site team, the sales advisor will record these and ensure they are attended to. You will be provided with a lot of information about your new home, including instruction manuals and guarantees. When have received confirmation that our solicitor is in receipt of your funds, we will provide you with the keys to your new home and you are free to move in.
What happens next?
Our sales advisor or a site representative will visit your shortly after you have moved in to check that you have settled in. As part of the reservation process you will have received full details about our customer care service, however we will re-visit this to ensure you know who to contact in the unlikely event of a problem. And remember, our dedicated customer care department is on hand to provide you with any additional guidance and support you require.
