Cruden Homes has donated £500 to Craigmillar-based health and wellbeing charity, Thistle. The money will be used to help reduce Thistle’s waiting list of people living in Edinburgh who need support to manage their long-term health conditions.
Commenting on the importance of the support, Thistle Fundraising Manager, William Oviatt said: “Every week, Thistle's wellbeing practitioners see people struggling with long-term conditions who have had to wait for support from us. The generous donation from Cruden Homes helps us to reduce the waiting list and help more local people".
Hazel Davies, Sales and Marketing Director for Cruden Homes East, visited Thistle’s Centre of Wellbeing recently to present the cheque and find out more about how Thistle supports people who are struggling with the diagnosis of a long-term condition.
Hazel said: “As a company that builds homes, we're also passionate about helping create communities and we think this ethos is well reflected in our ‘Vision’ development of apartments and houses which is part of the final phase of the ongoing regeneration of Craigmillar. As we also have an active policy at each of our development locations of trying to support the local community where we can, we thought the commendable work Thistle is doing was particularly worthy of support”.
